All slides pop when pulled out fast.The wooden case is original french, the mouthpiece is a newer Vincent Bach 1FL Those french Courtois flugelhorns are really in demand for professional players for their beautiful dark sound, perfect intonation and ease of playing, thus having the reputation of being among the best french flugelhorns ever manufactured. The valves are in very good condition, smooth and fast with perfect compression. circular model ( Distin ) Cornet in Bb ( Courtois ) 3 - valve Cornet in Bb - A ( Rudall Carte ) Flugel horn in Bb ( Kohlert ) Valved bugle in Bb, etc. The silverplating is about 99% ok, I can find one small spot of wear on the valve block, so this horn was obviously played little and it was well taken care of.The bell has almost 6 inches in diameter, the valve bore is small 10mm.
This vintage breveté model is in really nice shape, you would not guess its age of 40+ years (serial number is 11163, so it was manufactured in the late 70ies or early 80ies).
